Velda Shook
When her parents divorced she was 7 years old and went with her mother Goldie. She was lovingly called “Auntie Da” by her nieces and nephews and her pet name was “Auntie Mame” because she loved to have a good time and party. She really loved her family. She was also very talented. She danced the hula and enjoyed ceramics. A signature move she had when a video camera was on she’d giver her skirt a flip when she walked away from the camera. She loved wearing dangly earrings and had a wonderful sense of humor. She loved laughing. – Kathy Barrus, niece
