Ralph was born in Junction City, Oregon, To Oscar. L. and Vida R. Dunlap on December 29, 1921. He and his family moved to Caldwell in 1926. he attended schools in Caldwell, graduating from Caldwell High School in 1939. He then attended College of Idaho for one year. He owned and operated Dunlap Hatchery in Caldwell, Idaho, unti9l his illness forced him to retire.
Ralph married Jeanne Lu Allen in 1944 and they had three children. They were later divorced. He then married Faye L. York in 1959, and they had three children.
He was a member of the IOOF Lodge Lodge #10 for 60 years, and the Caldwell Elks #1448 for over 30 years. In 1995 he received the Idaho Bird Breeder Certificate of Appreciation for interest and Support.
He is survived by his wife Faye, of Caldwell, three sons; David Dunlap of Garden Grove, Calif., Gregg Dunlap of Caldwell, and Leslie Lynn Dunlap of Lake Oswego, Oregon; two daughters; Janice Depau of El Paso, Texas, Anita Hollis of Caldwell, a sister, Margaret Stevens of Pendleton, Oregon, a half-sister, Judy Alder of Murray, Utah, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brother Ray, his daughter Susan and grandson David Depau.
