She was married to Wilbur Shook in July 1920 at the tender age of 15. Her and Wilbur were later divorced. She kept Velda, while Wilbur had Helen. Her hobbies included sewing, cooking, and was an immaculate housekeeper. She was a party girl and loved to have fun, possibly were Velda got her love for fun as well. She was a successful business woman and owned her own beauty shop. She loved jewelry and had lots of diamonds and fur coats.
