John Johnson

Obit from the Mountain Home Newspaper:

John Johnson 37 of Mountain Home died Thursday Sept 10 1992 at his Home.
Graveside services were held Tuesday Sept 15 at Mountain View Cemetery in Mountain Home, with the Rev. Richard Gorman Officiating.

Johnson was born in Shreveport La., Sept 9 1956 the only son of James and Beverly McCrosstin Johnson. (this I do not understand for his Dads obit says that he had 2 sons John and Robert and one that had died Kurtis).( I am not sure what the McCrosstin is either maybe the people Millie Beverly was raised by in Emmett Idaho?).

He was married and had two sons, Blue and Shane, Both of Mountain Home. (From his first marriage. His 2nd Marriage was to Irma, Shane's Mother).

He is survived by his Spouse (Irma) his children and grandchildren. Survivors also included four step children Allen Spies of California, Randy Spies of Georgia, Stacey Spies of Mountain Home and Lisa of Boise, (These are Irma’s Children from her first marriage). Two Brothers Robert Johnson of Ohio and Michael Sliman of Yakima, Washington 3 sisters, Margaret Hubert and Betsy Briedback of Dunkirk Ohio, one Granchild and numerous aunts and uncles.

John was a unique individual, his family said, friend to all he knew with an easy personality that made it a comfort to talk to him if you were troubled, happy or just needed a shoulder or a clear head to be your sounding board.

He loved his family, which included friends as well. All were his family.

But the most comforting to John was the outdoors, as long as it included hunting, fishing, camping and horses. Often those who knew John though he should have lived 100 years ago instead of the present as he enjoyed making Indian clothing out of leather and Indian jewelry from antler, bone and stones and created some works of art with his ability.

John was a brawler and could be silly when it came to getting a laugh.... He loved his hamburgers too, but not in the usual way with usual things. All his hamburgers came with peanut butter. Peanut butter was his favorite thing.

John will be greatly missed by all who knew him and would wish that any memorials be sent to the Mustang Foundation of Mountain Home.

Services were under the direction of Humphery's Funeral Home.

Irma said that John drank a lot and would get really mean when he did. He had a heart of gold when he was not drinking but that was far a few between. John and Irma were split up when John killed himself he was at the bar, got mad, went home, and shot himself after the cops tried to enter the home.
