Brownies, Darlene Purser Bair

2/3 cup flour - unsifted
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/3 cup butter or other shortening
2 squares baking chocolate, unsweetened
2 eggs
1 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup chopped nuts

Mix flour with baking powder and salt. Melt butter and chocolate over hot water. Beat eggs well; gradually add sugar, beating well. Beat in chocolate and vanilla. Mix in flour; then stir in nuts. Spread in greased 8 inch square pan. Bake at 350` for 25 minutes. Cool before cutting.
