2 cups flour
2 tbsp double acting baking powder
1 tsp salt
1/3 cup shortening
3/4 cup milk
Stir dry ingredients together 3 times. Cut shortening quickly into dry ingredients. Add milk all at once and stir lightly only until flour is moistened. Round up on lightly floured cloth- covered board. Knead 18 strokes and pat out or lightly roll with a rolling pin 1/2" to 3/4" in thickness. Handle no more than necessary. Cut with floured biscuit cutter and place on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake until brown. Oven 450`, 10-12 minutes.
